Inashiro Vocational competes against Sakurazawa High in the second semifinal. Sakurazawa previously endured 20 consecutive seasons of first round exits until first years Inamooto Masaaki, Hitokoro Yoshimi, and Nagao Akira joined. Akira displays enthusiasm similar to Sawamura, using a slow but erratic pitch that confuses opponents. Masaaki surprises the crowd by retiring the top of Inashiro's lineup with a knuckle ball. However, the tide turns when Mei takes the mound and strikes out the side, making Sakurazawa realize their slim chances of advancing. This segment adapts the second half of chapter 134 through chapter 136.
