Kiyoshiro suffers a near-death experience and is subsequently haunted by a voice that warns of dangerous incidents attempting to kill him. After one of these accidents succeeds, he discovers that the voice belongs to Sepikmon, a masked monkey Digimon. Sepikmon exists in the space between life and death and expresses a desire to befriend Kiyoshiro. The narrative focuses on Kiyoshiro's interaction with this entity following the series of lethal events. The story explores the relationship between the human protagonist and the supernatural Digimon who communicates with him through these ominous warnings and subsequent encounters.
