Mistaken for a couple at a restaurant, Natsuo and Hina discuss her past affair with Shuu during a beach conversation. A flashback reveals her high school memories with him. Natsuo shares that he completed his novel and confesses his love, surprising Hina when she suggests they go out. She explains that dating would be akin to double suicide due to the loss of everything. Back home, Hina reads his work. Later, Natsuo accidentally makes noise while peeking into her room, where he sees her masturbating while calling Shuu’s name. He hides behind the stairs as she investigates. The next morning, Hina greets him, advising him to wake up earlier, and waves goodbye. Natsuo feels embarrassed watching her hand.
