While a photo album on the floor evokes nostalgia, Nobita's mother recounts a family legend regarding a precious diamond ring that was stolen by two boys in the past. Motivated by this story, Nobita and Doraemon use their time machine to travel back and intervene in the robbery. They aim to stop the thieves from taking the heirloom. However, upon reaching the past, they discover that the diamond ring is actually made of plastic. It was created specifically as a lesson for Nobita's mother rather than being a genuine valuable item.
