After Takashi takes a day off from school, the narrative explores his current dynamic with Nanao. Meirin attempts to investigate the situation but encounters confusing dimensions and fruitless divergent paths. Nanao then proposes a trial based on Takashi’s three worst fears, with perpetual proximity as the prize. During this challenge, Nanao explains his backstory while Takashi confronts his anxieties.
