Following the successful creation of gunpowder, which Taiju accidentally ignites, the group observes smoke in the distance, indicating other survivors. Senku decides to light a fire to serve as a signal. Tsukasa intercepts him, taking Yuzuriha hostage to demand the revival fluid recipe. To save Yuzuriha, Senku surrenders the formula and is forced to choose between abandoning science or facing death. He remembers his passion for science and his friendship with Taiju. Rejecting the abandonment of science, Senku accepts his fate, preparing to die at Tsukasa's hands.
