Ep. 23: Goku uses Instant Transmission to save Gohan from Freeza's final form

Piccolo appears to die while protecting Gohan from Freeza. Meanwhile, Beerus wants pizza and Whis receives a dessert invitation from Bulma. She informs Whis of Freeza’s return and Piccolo’s death. Goku and Vegeta prepare for battle upon learning this news. Whis notes the journey takes thirty-five minutes, but Goku attempts Instant Transmission despite the distance. He searches for a ki signature on Earth and locates Gohan, who has powered up to his limit. Goku arrives just in time to save his son. Freeza transforms into his final form to display his strength, killing all his subordinates except Sorbet. Surprised by this power, Goku readies himself for combat.
