Kai loses control of his psychic abilities and disappears in front of Asuka. He materializes at a cathedral where psychic children summoned him via telepathy. Attempting to flee, he is intercepted by Cardinal Ghibelline. After escaping to the exterior, Kai encounters Erimiya, who advises him to find his true self. Shortly thereafter, Shen-Long assaults Kai, criticizing the changes in Shin-Lu following the explosion at Gald.
