Ep. 2: Rikuo and Masaki investigate Sammy’s potential deception at the Time of Eve café.

Rikuo tells Masaki that Sammy likely did not act alone and denies visiting the Time of Eve café. Masaki recites the Three Laws of Robotics, noting no rule prohibits lying, so they plan to verify her truthfulness. While waiting, they are distracted when Chie hides Rikuo’s glasses, though Akiko promises their return. Masaki leaves to pursue Setoro while another patron speaks with Nagi. Rikuo realizes androids can lie, but Shimei suggests secrets protect loved ones. After retrieving his glasses from Nagi, Rikuo identifies the patron as Sammy, who flees as the door locks. Nagi advises empathy, leading Rikuo to stay put. He later thanks Sammy for the coffee, while Setoro informs Dr. Ashimori that Rikuo is not an Ethics Committee spy.
