Drossel von Flügel encounters Gedächtnis in the main hall of Flügel Manor, where she addresses him using the names Sanhoiza and Hoizasa. She asks why he is wearing a mask, and he explains that he has an irritant in his eye that he cannot remove. Although Drossel suggests he rest in his room for the day, Gedächtnis declares that it is his duty to stay by her side, just as he has done for the last 2800 years. Consequently, Drossel decides to have him guess her location as she moves around the room. He announces her current position each time, leading to an ironic outcome.
