In the main hall of Flügel Manor, Drossel von Flügel meets with Gedächtnis, addressing him as Sutersusetsu, to inquire about any mail delivered to the estate. Gedächtnis appears uneasy but presents a collection of letters he has gathered. He explains that a city surrounds the mansion, which is itself encircled by a desert. Drossel states she exchanges letters with Umerudeberel despite never leaving the property. Gedächtnis suggests using a transmission beam, but she declines. Although he considers the letters absurd, Drossel discloses her actual motives behind the correspondence.
