Ep. 3: Kato confronts a hostage taker streaming for prize money to save his sister

Kato meets Daisuke and Suzue’s grandmother, who urges him to be a good officer. He intervenes when a young man holds music fans hostage on a train. Former Division 1 colleagues trigger a flashback of Kato shooting a suspect. Daisuke arrives, but Kato stays, discovering the incident is live on Chaintube. Kato requests Daisuke’s assistance, leading to a smoke grenade infiltration. Division 1 Chief Takei orders Kato to shoot, but he instead has HEUSC hack the suspect’s emails. They learn the man seeks 10 million views to fund his sick sister’s surgery. Desperate hostages attack to see Yokorenbo’s final concert. Daisuke distracts them by paying for a performance outside. Kato hesitates to shoot, so Daisuke pays for the surgery. Takei praises Kato, who realizes Daisuke helped because he trusted Kato’s judgment that the man was not a true killer.
