Ep. 9: Kei struggles with suit anxiety while Nishi mocks the group before a violent confrontation.

Kei attempts to inform Katou about his forgotten suit, but Katou is distracted by promoting the gear's capabilities. Consequently, all participants don suits except Kei and three biker subordinates. Nishi mocks Kei’s fear, claiming borrowed suits are useless, and taunts the group about their reliance on others and inevitable failure, asserting there are no leaders, only competitors. Kosuke, one of the bikers, attacks Nishi in anger. The initial gunshot fails, but Nishi retaliates, causing Kosuke’s head to implode. Nishi commands Gantz to start, teleporting the group. Kei appears directly in the path of an oncoming lorry, narrowly dodging it. He finds himself alone on a street, facing only a slowly approaching robot-like alien.
