Wakamatsu explains that Seo’s behavior causes him stress and insomnia, but a recording of Lorelei’s singing allows him to sleep and feel refreshed. He uses Nozaki’s shoujo manga to confront Seo, though she mistakes his actions for friendship. Later, Nozaki develops a fever and sends an SOS text to Hori, Sakura, and Wakamatsu. The three friends team up to assist Nozaki with his manga work. Their main challenge involves the difficult task of applying screentones to the pages.
