The narrative resumes the Second Battle of Tiamat on 7 December 745 UC, where the Alliance and Imperial Fleets clash after a brief regrouping. Despite worsening internal conflicts among Alliance commanders, their frontline decisions remain effective. As the engagement reaches a stalemate, the Alliance Fleet faces imminent encirclement by the numerically superior Imperial forces. Bruce Ashbey anticipates this trap and reinforces the besieged Alliance troops at a critical juncture, successfully disrupting the Imperial strategy. However, his timely intervention cannot save Vittorio di Bertini, a member of the Year 730 Mafia. The battle concludes with a decisive Alliance victory, but Ashbey’s flagship, Hard Luck, is hit by stray fire, resulting in his death. Following the conclusion of these historical records, Yang Wen-li bids farewell to Alfred Rosas and returns to his research. Yet, within a day, news breaks of Rosas’ sudden demise.
