Captain Barnaby Costea directs his forces to assault the rebellious inmates, aiming to kill Yang Wen-li and Fyodor Patrichev during the chaos to hide his embezzlement of camp funds. With assistance from Christopf von Köfenhiller, Yang, Patrichev, and the prisoners manage to flee the facility. Presberg later reveals to Yang that the uprising was a ruse, as Costea had promised him early release to the Galactic Empire in exchange for his cooperation. Yang and Patrichev subsequently infiltrate the Econia Internment Camp's command center and apprehend Costea. They then submit a full report of these events to the Thanatos Starzone military police.
