After successfully escaping from jail, the group encounters the sacred queen of the Ghost Hoppers. She explains that her people pushed science too far, causing their current appearance. The queen assists them in reverting the 999's tracks back to their original state. Consequently, she decides to rebel against her own subjects, who refuse to heed her advice.
