This is the overall episode number 305 of the Shogun Assassination Arc Part Six. During the ongoing violent battle, Gintoki and Takasugi are forced to face memories from their time at the temple school regarding the true nature of a samurai. As they reflect on their shared hardships, Takasugi is suddenly struck in the back by a long blade weapon. The projectile is thrown by Oboro of the Yata-Garasu, who unexpectedly appears directly in front of Gintoki to carry out the attack.
