As Utsuro attacks the ship entrance, Sasaki sacrifices himself to protect them, ultimately meeting his demise. This event concludes the eighth part of the Farewell Shinsengumi Arc, marking a decisive moment in the conflict between the allied forces and the Yata-Garasu.
