An aide to the US Foreign Secretary hires Golgo to assassinate Jose Campos, a drug distributor who remains active while in custody. Campos escapes a prison bus using a stolen armored van, prompting the aide to demand his death before he reaches Mexico to preserve US credibility. Golgo obtains schematics for the vehicle and acquires a specialized gun with armor-piercing bullets. He disguises himself as a SWAT team member at a roadblock and successfully shoots Campos through a weak point in the van's armor, completing the mission.
