After Tokuoka is fired from CC Corp, Mai and her boyfriend Tomonari Kasumi collapse while playing The World. Mai wakes up in the hospital, but Tomonari remains in a coma. Rumors spread as the G-study clubhouse closes. Mai realizes a specific sound, A in C major, helped her recover. She teams up with Tokuoka to investigate. They access Tomonari’s account, revealing harassment from users Yukichin and Kyo. Tomonari chose the name Sieg from Wagner’s operas, aiming to surpass the player character Balmung. To understand the collapse, they break into G-study. The sound returns in a field, causing Tokuoka to struggle. Mai destroys the computer and drags him outside, where rainwater revives him. They vow to uncover CC Corp’s secrets and find a way to wake everyone up.
