The Karasuno volleyball team prepares for the upcoming Spring Nationals by having their physical measurements taken, which sparks friendly rivalry among the players. Kageyama receives an invitation to the All-Japan Youth Training Camp, whereas Tsukishima is selected for a first-year-only prefecture-wide training camp. Feeling jealous of Tsukishima’s opportunity, Hinata secretly joins the first-year camp. After initial confusion, the coach of Shiratorizawa permits Hinata to stay as a ball boy, aiming to evaluate his abilities separately from Kageyama.
