Mahiro Yasaka lives a quiet life until Nyarlathotep, appearing as a silver-haired girl, saves him from a wicked alien. She explains her lineage and the universe of H. P. Lovecraft, declaring herself his protector because entities like Nyarlathotep find him and Earth attractive for entertainment, auction, or slavery. She forcefully moves into his home, bringing more trouble than expected. When Mahiro finds the situation too bothersome, Nyarlathotep transfers to his school under the name Nyaruko Yasaka, posing as both his relative and his wife. This arrangement complicates his daily existence significantly as she integrates herself into his personal and academic life under false pretenses.
