Lin appears to have entered Banba's office with lethal intent, yet her true goal is to shield him from assassins hired by her employer, Zhang. In a separate incident, Saitou narrowly escapes torture and death after Jirou and Misaki mistake him for someone else. Grateful for his survival, Saitou spends the night celebrating in town. He later wakes up in a hotel room, disoriented from drinking, to discover the body of an unfamiliar woman lying beside him.
