Ep. 9: Miku helps an ill boy perform magic before his death and memory loss

After injuring herself, Miku visits a hospital where she meets a boy who has been sick his entire life. The Seven assist him in staging a magic show, but his doctor is revealed to be a Magatsugami. The creature offers to cure the boy in exchange for possession, demanding that Amano never smile again. Amano embraces him, which expels the monster, allowing the Seven to defeat it. Although Amano promises to return daily and help him with magic, the Seven prepare to erase his memories. Amano flees to the hospital, only to learn the boy died that morning. Miku admits she sensed his impending death. Amano later meets the boy’s mother, who confirms that their time together brought him immense happiness.
