Following a loss to Kaga by half a point, Hikaru joins the school Go team. He successfully replays a game from memory, prompting Sai to recognize his potential as comparable to Akira's. Although Kaga defeats his opponent, Hikaru loses his match. Consequently, Kimihiro must step in to lead the team forward in the tournament.
