A valley is overrun by the Purple Magic Orchid, a plant that emerged after a natural disaster and can cause people to sink and die. Hua Qiangu is the only survivor, protected by the Flower God Tree. A baby, brought by a Phoenix and infected with the orchid's poison, is secretly taken in by Hua Qiangu’s king and queen, who defy their ancestors' rule against outsiders. They raise the child as Princess Peony. When the Flower God Tree withers and Peony falls ill, the people of Hua Qiangu demand her removal. The queen refuses to abandon her daughter and seeks aid from the dying tree, offering to sacrifice herself to the black enchantment to restore the flower soul. However, the orchid's power traps her, and she never returns. Ten years later, the Purple Magic Orchid resurges, devastating Hua Qiangu. Guided by her mother's lessons, Peony sets out with flower soul seeds to save her homeland.
