Touya arrives in Oedo, a Japanese-style castle town located within Tokugawa Ieyahsu's domain. He proceeds directly to Yae's residence, where he encounters their servant, Ayane, and Yae's mother, Nanae. During this visit, he learns that Yae's father and brother have departed for war alongside Ieyahsu.
