White lion Caesar is hunted by Viper Snakely, leading to his widow Snowene giving birth to Kimba on a ship.

The white lion Caesar attempts to establish a peaceful animal kingdom but provokes nearby humans. A hunter named Viper Snakely is hired to eliminate him and succeeds in killing Caesar. Snakely also captures Caesar's widow, Snowene, intending to sell her to a zoo. While imprisoned in a cage on an ocean vessel, Snowene gives birth to a baby white lion named Kimba. Before her death, she instructs Kimba to jump from the ship and return to the jungle to continue his father's legacy. The young cub reluctantly complies and dives into the ocean. During his journey, various animals including birds, fish, and butterflies assist Kimba in reaching his destination.
