Ai Narata, a former member of the idol group JPX48, gains admission to the prestigious Kouka School of Musical and Theatrical Arts, which accepts fewer than 40 students annually. She attempts to travel incognito, but her cover is compromised, and her controversial early graduation from JPX48 precedes her arrival, marking her as an outcast. While drawn to a cursed sakura tree on campus, Ai interacts with Sarasa Watanabe, a tall girl who retrieves Ai’s blown ticket from the branches. Sarasa asks for a photo under the tree and declares her ambition to become a top star, drawing stares from onlookers in the courtyard, including a daughter of stage actors and a former prima ballerina who chose the school instead.
