Workers destroy the remaining sacred tree at the shrine grounds, causing Nagi to fear her powers will fade until she vanishes. She tells Jin she needs a new object of worship. Akiba informs Jin about Zange, a popular girl Nagi met at school. After Jin meets Zange, Nagi investigates and suspects her of malicious intent. Nagi confronts Zange, accusing her of using a human as a host. Zange admits that Hakua Suzushiro serves as her vessel by free will. Zange overpowers Nagi, but Jin arrives and is shocked by the scene. Later, Zange visits Jin, offering to take care of him as compensation for the earlier incident.
