During a storm, Jin’s clubmate Daitetsu stays at their home and begins doubting whether Jin and Nagi are truly siblings. He later admits to stealing the ancient tree Jin used to bring Nagi to life. Nagi becomes furious and warns of a divine curse. Overcome with remorse and fear of punishment, Daitetsu runs to the tree’s location to beg the gods for forgiveness. As he prays, Nagi uses her powers to shield him from a lightning strike. She collapses immediately after, a state Jin recognizes from past experiences, causing him significant concern. Daitetsu’s confession and subsequent actions highlight the tension surrounding the tree’s theft and the supernatural consequences involving Nagi’s abilities and the perceived wrath of the gods.
