Yuichi Aizawa returns to the snowy town where he stayed as a child seven years ago. He takes residence under the roof of his cousin, Nayuki Minase, and her mother, Akiko Minase. Nayuki guides Yuichi as he becomes reacquainted with his surroundings. During this process, other characters are introduced to most of the main cast, albeit only in passing. This episode serves as an introduction to the primary group of individuals Yuichi will encounter in this setting.
