Keith evades the law and locates a shifting shard, traveling to Templar. Authorities summon Robès to return him to Neotopia due to their alliance, but Robès proposes Zed as the escort instead. The shifting process malfunctions, causing Roya, Zed, and Keith to arrive in Tusk, a nation allied with Zymot. Consequently, both Hugh and Noah depart to locate the missing individuals.
