A Charter of the Universal Century article titled "Future" documents humanity's expansion into space. Ronan, a key Federation figure and Riddhe's father, fears the contents of Laplace's Box contained within this article. Consequently, he approves a colony laser attack to destroy Magallanica, the location of the Box. Banagher and Riddhe utilize their Gundams to generate a psycho-field that shields Magallanica from destruction. This defense results in Banagher being absorbed by the Unicorn Gundam. Meanwhile, Mineva broadcasts the truth about the Box globally. Otto and Zinnerman assist her in evading the pursuing Federation fleet. Driven by the influence of his father Cardeas, Banagher eventually reunites with Mineva.
