Apr 3, 2016During the calendar transition from A.D. to Universal Century, the space station Laplace, which serves as the official residence for the Earth Federation prime minister, is destroyed by a terrorist attack. One of the perpetrators, a young man named Syam Vist, is caught in the blast but barely survives the incident. During the chaos, he manages to obtain a forbidden box that will later become known as Laplace's Box. The narrative then jumps forward in time to Universal Century 0096, nearly a century after the initial destruction of the station and the acquisition of the mysterious artifact by the survivor.

Zinnerman remains suspicious of Cardeas’s claim that he is protecting Audrey.

Meanwhile, Cardeas, mortally wounded by Alberto who infiltrated Magallanica, reveals he is Banagher's estranged father. He entrusts Banagher with the Unicorn Gundam, the key to Laplace's Box, hoping he can break the Vist family curse before disappearing in the flames. As childhood memories return, Banagher activates the Unicorn Gundam to fight the Sleeves mobile suit Kshatriya. He pushes the enemy out of the colony, but faces danger when it counterattacks.

Apr 24, 2016Following the defeat of the Kshatriya, Banagher loses consciousness and is recovered by the Earth Federation Forces warship Nahel Argama alongside the Unicorn Gundam. The vessel also rescues Audrey, as well as Banagher's friends Takuya and Micott. Zinnerman of the Sleeves locates the Nahel Argama using a strategic trap, leading to a severe assault by Full Frontal, the second coming of the Red Comet, and his mobile suit Sinanju. Audrey urges Banagher to flee with her to destroy the Unicorn Gundam, which holds the key to Laplace's Box. However, Daguza from the Federation's ECOAS special forces captures Audrey, demanding that Frontal cease the attack. This leverage exists because Audrey is actually Mineva Zabi, the Zeon princess.

May 1, 2016Daguza holds Mineva hostage, prompting Frontal to refuse a ceasefire and order the sinking of the Nahel Argama. Banagher pilots the Unicorn Gundam to rescue Audrey, supported by Anaheim executive Alberto, who secretly intends for Frontal to destroy the mobile suit to secure the Box. The Unicorn shifts to Destroy Mode and fights the Sinanju, but Banagher is captured when Marida’s Kshatriya launches a surprise attack. Daguza recognizes the Gundam is guided by a human heart rather than serving solely as a Zeon eradication weapon. However, Frontal attacks with the Sinanju, accompanied by Angelo and his guards, resulting in Daguza's death. Driven by Banagher's rage, the Unicorn Gundam activates its NT-D system, shifting to Destroy Mode to overpower the Sinanju. Loni, pilot of the Shamblo that attacked Dakar, urges Frontal to strike the base. Riddhe’s Delta Plus joins Bright’s Ra Cailum, which receives news of the assault. Zeon remnants have gathered following Kirks's call, and the Shamblo appears in Sydney Bay, indiscriminately attacking the city. This aggression by the Zeon remnants is driving Loni toward committing a massacre.

Meanwhile, Riddhe's father Ronan gives Mineva to Alberto's aunt Martha, who moves her to the Garuda airlifter to force Banagher to speak. Banagher refuses to reveal the new coordinates for Laplace's Box. Bright, commander of Londo Bell, sees potential in Banagher similar to past Gundam pilots and offers support. Through Kai Shiden, Bright coordinates with the Garencieres for a joint rescue mission for Mineva. Bright prepares to send the Nahel Argama for backup and orders Banagher to board the Garuda where Mineva is detained.

Concerned by the Federation's stagnation, he collaborated with his grandson Cardeas to find a worthy successor for the world's future. They utilized the Unicorn Gundam, capable of identifying true Newtypes, as the key to the Box. After passing this test, Banagher and Mineva are set to receive the Box from Syam with the intention of using it for the benefit of all. However, Full Frontal appears in the cold sleep room, asserting his status as the legitimate inheritor. Consequently, Banagher and Frontal engage in a final battle over the Box.
