Tanjiro awakens from a dream by cutting his neck and engages Enmu, the cause of the train's chaos. Enmu derives pleasure from the passengers' suffering, which enrages Tanjiro. He decapitates Enmu but finds the demon's body fused to the Mugen Train. Cornered by this revelation, Tanjiro receives assistance from Inosuke, who has just awakened.
