Ep. 9: Tengen and Tanjiro confront Gyutaro while Zenitsu and Inosuke battle Daki’s obi.
Tengen recalls his promise to his wives to live flamboyantly and retire after defeating an Upper Rank demon. He and Tanjiro attack Gyutaro, who neutralizes wisteria poison and regenerates his legs. Gyutaro uses a new Blood Demon Art to vanish and threaten Hinatsuru. Tanjiro combines Hinokami Kagura and Water Breathing to save her, earning Tengen’s gratitude. They resume their assault, but Gyutaro blocks the blades and forces Tengen to intervene, separating the fighters. Tanjiro joins Zenitsu and Inosuke against Daki. Inosuke decapitates her to prevent reattachment, but Gyutaro ambushes him, stabbing him through the chest and reclaiming the head. Tanjiro witnesses Tengen’s severed hand and unconscious body, freezing in despair. Zenitsu pushes Tanjiro off the roof to save him from an incoming obi attack.
