Zheng and mountain folk forces divide after being halted by Wei Xing's elite crossbowmen. Xin leads a smaller contingent toward the palace to locate the usurper Cheng Jiao. Their path is obstructed by the lethal assassin Zuo Ci and his subordinates. The group faces immediate danger from Zuo Ci's men while attempting to reach their target within the palace grounds.
