Simultaneously, Togusa, who has recently divorced, returns to police work in Japan after Aramaki requests his assistance with a separate investigation. Back in Palm Springs, Motoko’s team consults a confidential informant who reveals that the belligerents receive arms from a figure known as the Good 1%er, though the informant cannot identify this person. The group’s search is abruptly interrupted when they encounter a robotic guard dog during their meeting with the informant.
