Other passengers lock Ikoma and Mumei into the rear car, leaving the Koutetsujou without two of its best fighters. Immediately after, the Kabane launch an attack. Among the attackers is a Wazatori, a specific type of Kabane capable of learning and growing stronger with every battle it engages in. This development poses a significant threat to the remaining survivors on the train as they face an enemy that evolves through combat.
