Ep. 2: Momosuke investigates the Yanagi Onna legend at Kichibe's inn before his fifth wedding to Yae.

Momosuke visits Kichibe's Willow Inn to investigate the Yanagi Onna, a spirit rumored to be jealous of Kichibe, the innkeeper, who is preparing to marry his fifth bride, Yae. Rumors claim the spirit murdered previous wives and children. Momosuke meets the Ongyo, Mataichi and Ogin, at the inn. After the wedding proceeds normally, the Ongyo compel Kichibe to face the spirit. The spirit is revealed to be a split persona of Kichibe, born from the pressure of family duties and fear of being discarded once an heir arrives. Kichibe is killed by willow branches, and Mataichi sends his soul to the afterlife. Yae soon gives birth to a son. Momosuke observes the relatives' pressure on Kichibe to produce an heir, concluding that this familial expectation was the true cause of his death.
