Riki and Rin regain consciousness in the real world, remembering that their bus crashed during a field trip. They recall how Masato and Kengo shielded them with their own bodies, sustaining injuries in the process. The group initially flees the crash site to escape an impending explosion, but once they reach a safe distance, Riki decides to leave Rin behind. He returns to the danger zone to attempt to rescue the others. However, his efforts are hindered as he begins suffering from another episode of narcolepsy, forcing him to struggle intensely to stay awake while trying to help his friends.
