Fujiko contacts Lupin from Professor Pot's laboratory, but Lupin is too drowsy to answer, so Jigen picks up the phone instead. She informs him that Professor Pot has inadvertently created a robot capable of manufacturing diamonds. Jigen remains skeptical of her claims and does not believe what she is saying. Consequently, he ends the conversation and hangs up the phone without further discussion or action regarding the alleged invention.
