Zenigata barely keeps his job and suffers serious injuries from an assassination attempt. Feeling sorry for him and wanting to clear their name, Lupin and his gang decide to help retrieve the gold. The story questions whether Inspector Zenigata will accept Lupin's unexpected assistance in recovering the stolen treasure.
