The Reaper was developed to defeat the Corpse. Akashi begins training as its pilot, but excessive stress causes him to struggle with mounting frustration. Meanwhile, Sasame Izuriha, the final pilot candidate, transfers into his class. Akashi finds Sasame occupying his thoughts and attempts to speak with her.
