Macross 7

Thirty-five years after a historic peace was achieved between humans and the Zentradi, a musician named Nekki Basara is part of the band Fire Bomber. He resides in the underdeveloped section of the mobile colony City 7, which is searching for a new planet to inhabit. Believing in the power of music, he composes and performs songs. While City 7 travels, it is attacked by an alien species that does not seek destruction but instead steals a substance called "spiritia," leaving victims in a catatonic, zombie-like state. During these conflicts, Basara enters the battlefield to sing, hoping his music will reach both enemies and allies.
