Vivio engages in a sparring match against tournament combatant Chantez Apinion, utilizing Chris' Contact Mode to block attacks but falling victim to Chantez's special technique. Concurrently, Hayate and her team complete Einhart's new device, which is named Asteon or Teo. The group then begins individual tournament training; Vivio studies under Nove, while Chris consults Nanoha on better ways to protect Vivio. As the tournament qualifiers approach, Vivio meets Miura Rinaldi, the understudy for Vita and Zafira. Both Vivio and Miura successfully clear their respective qualification rounds, setting the stage for the upcoming competition.
