Yatsumura reveals to Aya that she is a magical girl and brings her home, warning that using her abilities reduces her lifespan. She explains that a Magical Hunter is killing magical girls to steal their artifacts, noting that her friend Rina disappeared while investigating this threat. Yatsumura stays in Aya’s room overnight to protect her from her brother’s abuse. The following day, the Hunter attacks, but Yatsumura persuades Aya to use her weapon. They track the Hunter to a location revealed by Aya’s weapon, where Yatsumura realizes the Hunter is actually Rina. Rina admits she kills other magical girls to survive until the end. Under pressure, Rina explains she met the website manager, who revealed a secret page with a countdown to an event called the Tempest on August 11 at 07:23, which will destroy the current world and open a door to a new one.
