The Magic Thesis Competition team continues their project development, but Erika, Mikihiko, and Leo capture fleeing student Chiaki Hirakawa, who is revealed to be a spy against the First High team. Chiaki confesses to opposing Tatsuya, claiming he caused Kobayakawa's accident during the Mirage Bat event of the Nine Schools Competition. Meanwhile, Erika takes a day off to train Leo in lethal magic, anticipating that the conflict will likely escalate to a life-or-death struggle. Mikihiko pursues an embarrassed Mizuki and accidentally encounters an ominous figure wearing a First High student uniform.
